Medical massage: Medical massage helps those who have chronic pain due to various conditions, and can help relieve some of the pain and inflammation caused by those conditions. When setting up an appointment for massage for those with chronic pain, we make sure that our clients have discussed medical massage with their physicians, so that we can ascertain whether massage might be an effective and safe way to work with those suffering from chronic pain.
Swedish massage: Swedish massage is what you typically think of when you think of massage. If you want a massage that is very gentle, relaxing, and good for stress relief, then Swedish massage is for you. This relaxing massage style promotes the flow of good energy and gives you a general good feeling. For those of you who don't believe the whole "positive energy flow" talk, massage has been proven to promote the release of endorphins, which relieve pain and make you feel good. So you really will feel good after a Swedish massage!
Deep tissue massage: Deep tissue massage is for those who essentially want a "workout" when they get a massage. All those knots in your muscles (caused by tension and stress) get worked out, and you'll notice a difference right away! Your muscles will feel more relaxed, and that pain in your neck and back will finally disappear.
Pregnancy massage: Pregnant women can also enjoy the many benefits of massage, and massage can be particularly helpful since pregnancy can take a lot out of you! Sandra uses a special pillow that feels comfortable and is safe for pregnant women; however, if you are concerned, speak with your doctor first. (Sandra does not offer this service to women who are too close to their time of delivery.)
Bamboo massage: Sandra now offers bamboo massage, a method using hollowed-out bamboo sticks to work out muscle knots and relieve stress.
Steam detox and massage: Steam detox makes your body sweat out all those toxins that build up in your system. (Sweating also helps you lose weight, which might be a nice added bonus!) After using a canopy for steam detox, Sandra gives a massage. The steam detox makes your muscles more relaxed and easy to work with, which is why this steam and massage combination feels great!
European facials: European facials are relaxing facials-- not the kind where your pores are unclogged. These facials are solely relaxing. Sandra exfoliates the skin and gently massages the face, using warm towels and soothing music to make you feel relaxed.
Ear candling: Ear candling is an ancient practice that many customers claim helps with various balance issues and the buildup of ear wax. Basically, a candle is placed in your ear and lit. Sound dangerous? It really isn't. Sandra take safety precautions to make sure all goes smoothly. Give it a try!
